Press release -
Wawrzyniec Smoczyński to speak at ICCO Global Summit
Wawrzyniec Smoczyński, Founder of Polityka Insight, will speak at the ICCO Global Summit, taking place in Warsaw on 11th and 12th October.
Wawrzyniec is the founder of Polityka Insight, Poland's premier source for political and economic analysis. He currently leads the development of a multi-year strategy for SWPS, Poland’s largest private university, and advises corporate clients on the geopolitical outlook for Poland and Central Europe. In 2020 Wawrzyniec has founded the New Community Foundation - an innovative Polish non-profit with the mission to reduce polarisation and rebuild civic community in Poland. A former award-winning journalist and political commentator, Wawrzyniec also serves as council member of the European Council on Foreign Relations.
Smoczyński's session will tackle the topic of increasing societal divisions and potential solutions in the talk titled "Why are societies increasingly divided and what can be done about it?" The influence of polarisation is evident not only in shaping political agendas across Europe but also in shaping social perceptions and consumer choices. The session will delve into questions such as the causes of polarisation, its significance as a problem, the role of populists and social media, and whether companies can afford to disregard these divisions. Poland serves as a prime example of Europe's laboratory for social polarisation, offering valuable insights that can benefit other countries seeking to navigate these challenges effectively.
The Summit unites senior PR leaders, agency owners, and communications directors in global roles; it is endorsed by 42 national PR associations. Delegates can expect to hear from international speakers representing over 40 countries – from world leading brands and institutions, as well as enjoying a cocktail welcome and legendary gala dinner with colleagues from across the globe. Topics will include AI integration now and next year, geopolitical shifts impacting global business, leadership, strategy, climate comms, institutional mistrust, young talent perspectives, creative insights, as well as regional trends from Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia. For over 20 years the ICCO Global Summit has offered PR experts and leaders with international remits to share insight and discuss the critical issues facing the global industry.
