PRGN Joins ICCO as Direct Member to Strengthen Global Voice of Independent PR Consultancies

London, 02 June 2025– The Public Relations Global Network (PRGN) has joined the International Communications Consultancy Organisation (ICCO) as a direct member, deepening its commitment to global collaboration and strengthening the voice of independent public relations consultancies in shaping the future of the industry.

This development comes at a critical moment for the communications profession. As the landscape of consultancy continues to evolve in 2025, with increased convergence of disciplines, emerging technologies, and growing scrutiny around ethics, purpose, and influence - independent networks such as PRGN play a pivotal role in bringing agility, authenticity, and local insight to the global stage.

Starting a membership in ICCO is a strategic move for PRGN and a next step to elevate its position globally as an independent network,” said Natacha Clarac, President of PRGN and General Manager of Athenora Consulting in Brussels. “While PRGN can step up visibility through ICCO’s communications platforms, member agencies will be able to take part in global professional knowledge sharing and benefit from opportunities to further develop agency operations. Furthermore, we’d like to take part in and contribute to global conversations about the future of the communications profession that ICCO is spearheading."

With more than 50 members spanning six continents, PRGN brings a unique perspective to ICCO’s global forum-particularly at a time when brands and organisations are navigating heightened expectations from stakeholders, rapidly shifting public discourse and a demand for communications that drive real-world impact.

Andras Sztaniszlav, Interim CEO of ICCO, welcomed the development:
“ICCO is dedicated to representing the PR consultancy industry on a global scale. It is crucial we reflect on the changes in the consultancy business: global PR firms and local agencies have seen competition from both private equity-backed and M&A-driven consultancies, as well as independent PR networks. While ICCO continues to support national PR associations, we welcome independent networks as they represent a new type of agency management system. PRGN’s outreach spans across continents, so we expect to share their views and insights, and have them contribute to our advocacy work as well.”

In 2025, as the world grapples with political, social and environmental complexity, both ICCO and PRGN reaffirm the importance of collaborative leadership, ethical communications and inclusive dialogue. This partnership reflects a shared vision to future-proof the profession by supporting the diversity of voices, experiences and models of practice that are shaping the next chapter of public relations.
